Creating an Action Plan

Modified on Mon, 14 Dec, 2020 at 1:52 PM

To create an Action Plan, navigate to the Action Plan list view by clicking on Marketing -> Action Plans. Then click on CREATE ACTION PLAN.

The first thing you need to do is give your Action Plan a name. If you are setting up automatic enquiry replies, then it is recommended to include the address in the name. Then you will need to select the Trigger for this Action Plan.

If you select MANUAL then you will need to manually trigger the Action Plan against the contact record.

There is also a list of AUTO triggers that you can choose from. These triggers will automatically launch the Action Plan when a particular event occurs.

Next you will need to select what Activity will occur. There is a selection of Activities to choose from

  • Create a Task - will create a task against the contact that the Action Plan triggers for
  • Create a Tag - will create a tag against the contact that the Action Plan triggers for
  • Create Preference - will create a preference record against the contact that the Action Plan triggers for
  • Send an Email - will send an email to the chosen contact
  • Send and SMS - will send an SMS to the chosen contact
  • Wait - select a period of time before the next Activity triggers

You can test Email and SMS by clicking the green test button and the Email will be sent to your email address and SMS will be sent to your Mobile.

When sending an email or SMS you can choose to send the email or SMS only at a specific time or between certain hours so that your clients do not receive notifications in the middle of the night.

You also have the option to Continue with the Action Plan or Stop the Action Plan based on the delivery status or action of the recipient.

Once you have added all of the Activities, make sure you click CREATE at the bottom to create the Action Plan.

You will then see your Action Plan at the top of the list view.
